Colostomy

A colostomy is generally performed in cases where there has been blockage, where there are surgical complications, or where the rectum needs to be removed. Sometimes, a temporary colostomy is needed in order to give the lower colon and rectum time to heal following surgery. When this happens, a second surgery is performed later so that the healthy sections of the colon can be joined and bowel function return to normal.

Advances in the materials used with colostomy devices have made it less difficult to live with and function in society with a colostomy.

Our law firm, together with the network of other law firms that we work with, helps victims of medical malpractice nationally.
